Yoh Launches Safety Web Site to Educate Contract Employees
whybesafe.com introduced during National Safety Month to help raise awareness of employee health and safety
PHILADELPHIA, June 2, 2003 – Yoh today unveiled whybesafe.com
(www.whybesafe.com), an interactive web site designed to orient and train
contract workers about safety - at work, at home, and on the road.
Yoh, whose workforce has recently completed more than 1,200 days without a lost-time incident, drives its safety culture by continually communicating and reinforcing the importance of safe work practices. whybesafe.com is the latest facet of Yoh's comprehensive safety program for both staff and contract employees.
"We care about safety because we care about people," said Joseph J. Ucciferro, President and CEO of Yoh. "We created whybesafe.com as part of our commitment to building and sustaining a safety-conscious environment and culture that will not be compromised for the purpose of profit or productivity."
whybesafe.com introduces Bea Safe, a safety spokesperson, who educates visitors about workplace hazards, safe work practices, reporting workplace accidents and how to integrate Yoh's contract employee safety program with company programs representing a wide variety of industries.
whybesafe.com is an online component of Yoh's integrated job-start function, a process completed by all contract employees prior to starting a work assignment or project with a customer. Site content includes workplace-specific orientations, tips on ergonomics, guidelines for safe driving and other workplace safety issues, safety do's and don'ts and links to product recalls. whybesafe.com also includes a direct link to OSHA's home page, providing visitors with additional information about worker safety and health.
